Dear Patriotic American,

What can you do?  What action can you take to make some small progress in restoring (or creating) integrity to our mass media? 

You can take action by going to this website below and sending an email to Congressmen Skelton, Tierney and Waxman.  This is current as of June 15, 2008.  If the link expires, please write to us at info@pentagonpundits.com and we will gladly tell you what was up as of mid June.

Even if this link is not working, find your Senators' addresses and write to them.  Tell them in your own words that you are sick of being lied to by the mass media, sick of their underreporting of opposition opinions on key issues such as war in Iraq.  Remind them that over a million people have been killed in Iraq, many of them civilians, as a result of the American war.  Remind them that Congress never declared war.  Remind them that the government has spent over $500 billion on the war so far.  Remind them that this war has no declared, measurable goals. that it is unwinnable, and that the mass media is keeping the American people in the dark about the real goings on in this war.  Tell them you want Congress to take action to create a more informative and truthful mass media in the United States in order to have a more informed public and a more robust and legitimate democracy.  (That ought to tell them!)

Also, watch the video of CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin who said that network executives had pushed her not to do hard-hitting pieces on the Bush administration as the nation readied for war.  Yellin confirmed the media's complicity in promoting this war on June 11, 2008. "The press corps was under enormous pressure from corporate executives, frankly, to make sure that this was a war presented in a way that was consistent with the patriotic fever in the nation," Yellin told CNN's Anderson Cooper.  The video is at the link below:

It's up to concerned Americans to get informed about this, tell our friends, and make our voices heard.  We can change the country and our foreign policy which is radically off course, immoral, illegal, and driven, kept secret, and accommodated by this sort of duplicity by the mass media.  We have the power of our voices, but that power only exists when we use our voices.  Thank you for using yours!
